Parents on the loose!

SoCal is finally getting some moisture, and LuLu's parents were itchin' to make some turns. Asking Gangy to watch Lu-Beans for the day is like asking this guy if he likes bacon. So we went to Mt. Baldy for a parents day out.

Mt. Baldy's a tiny little ski area consisting of 4 lifts, none having apparently been updated in quite some time. The place was like stepping back into 1985: its super old school. We saw a fair amount of croakies, I-Ski sunglasses, gators, one-pieces, rear-entry boots, and leather-strap bindings. However, the recent snowfall plus some pretty good terrain combined to make for a great outing. $31 lift tickets and just a 2 hour drive from Camarillo didn't hurt either.

Mt. Baldy's small, but if the snow is good it has some steep areas as good as anywhere. (They also have an open-boundary policy). Apparently good snow there is hard to come by, which is probably why its never gotten big and commercial. As such, its a refreshing reminder of what skiing used to be like. If you're in the area and the snow is right we can't recommend it enough!

Meanwhile, Lucy and Gangy had a great day together. We're happy to report she's been gaining weight at an appropriate right now. She's starting to grab things and figure the trajectory of such items to her mouth. She's also starting to recognize and observe Reggie. She's still a smiley little sort, esp. when she pukes all over mom and dad.

Thanks to our buddy, Pete Choi, for the Mt. Baldy recommendation!
