6-month update

Wow! Lucy is 6 months old, and I am a little late on this update! Things have been crazy this past month. As many of you know, we are in escrow on the sale of our home, and we are set to close on June 10. So if all goes to plan, we will be moving to Colorado in about a week and a half! This is very exciting and very sad at the same time. We absolutely love it here in Santa Barbara and we have such an amazing community of friends here, and it is very hard to leave. Also, my parents are only an hour away in Camarillo and it has been great spending so much time with them lately (but they are planning to move to Colorado too so that makes it much easier!). But at the same time we are very excited to return to beautiful Colorado and to be near Rick's family, Katie and her family, my Uncle Terry, and of course all of our awesome Colorado friends. So, as you can see, it is a very bittersweet move for us!

Helping Dad pack the garage

We have not purchased a house yet in Colorado, so we will be staying with Rick's family until we find something. We actually have an offer in on a foreclosure, but apparently it is going to be a very slow process so we won't know anything for a couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed- it is a fabulous house and a great deal!

Aside from the moving news, Lucy had several "firsts" this month! On our first mothers' day weekend we hung out at Gangy and Pop-Pop's down in Camarillo.

Three generations on our first Mothers' Day!

That weekend she also went for her first swim! She seemed to really like it, and even went underwater a few times and did great.

Reggie was like, "I can swim better than the baby! Watch me!"

During one lunchtime, she was ravenously grabbing for all of the food on my plate and Gangy was like, "I think she wants food!" so we busted out some oatmeal ceral, and what do you know? She HORSED it down like a total pro! She has been eating all kinds of cereals and baby food ever since- she has yet to turn anything down!

Last but not least, she had her first trip away from us this month... in fact, she is there right now which is probably why I have time to do this blog update! :) It has been sooo difficult to get any packing done with her around, so Gangy offered to take her home to Camarillo for a day or so to allow me to get some packing done. Unfortunately Rick came down with the flu at the same time, so she is staying down there for a few extra days until he feels better- we don't want her to get sick! So we are missing her terribly, but glad she is staying away from this sickness. She seems to be having a great time down there with Gangy, Pop-Pop, and Uncle Matt!

Well I think that's all for now. Next blog update should be coming from Colorado if all goes to plan! I'll leave you with her 6-month picture...

Wow! I didn't actually know your parents were planning on moving to CO. I just expected they'd be seriously contemplating it because both you and Katie and the grandkids would be there.

I love the Phish hat!

I understand now why Baby Lu' was away from you overnight for more than one night. When Dan was sick, he would stay in the office while we were in the front room and he scrubbed up and wore a surgical face mask when he was holding Baby Dylan. This was just before the dreaded Swine Flu was announced. Dan didn't know he was starting a fashion trend!

Good luck with the packing, the move and with finding a great home in CO. We are thinking about you and hope all goes as smoothly as a big move like that can go.

Love you!
