Hey all!
So, it finally happened... we moved into our new place! Most of you have probably already heard this news, but for those of you who haven't, we closed on the house on Aug. 19th. We spent about a week painting and doing other projects to get the house ready to move in, then we went out of town for 2 weddings, then we FINALLY moved in the day after Labor Day. Phew! For pictures of the new house, please follow this link: http://picasaweb.google.com/fluffhead1/BuckboardPics?authkey=Gv1sRgCMmby72lr-HXFw#
We are absolutely loving the new house, and our new town of Evergreen! Our neighbors have all been wonderful, and every day we spend at least a little time sitting out on our back deck enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and wildlife! We are really really happy and look forward to getting to know our new mountain community.
Speaking of being in the mountains, after weeks of gorgeous, warm, sunny weather, we got our first snow on Monday (Lucy's 10-month birthday)! We were so excited, not only because it was our first snow at the new house, but also because it was Lucy's first snow EVER! (She has seen snow on the ground before, but not actually falling from the sky.)
Sooo... what's new with Lucy? She has been doing great! She has adjusted well to the new house, and she finally has a room of her own which she LOVES! It's so funny, Bubbe put a bunch of stuffed animals up on her bookshelf, and EVERY TIME Lucy looks at them (which is about 15 times a day) she gets SO excited, she starts squealing and waving and kicking her legs and smiling the biggest smile ever. It is so cute!
She is also CRAWLING finally! It took her a little while to get the hang of it, but now she is officially "on the move" and we have to watch her constantly! And just about a week ago she started pulling herself up to standing... she did it for the first time with Gu-Ter (Great Uncle Terry)!!!
We took a fun trip to Seattle in late August for Sheley and Isak's wedding, and Lucy joined in the fun. We did lots of thrift store shopping in the U-district, ate lots of good food, and of course had a great time at the wedding as well! On the way back, Lucy was having so much fun smiling and waving to people at the airport that we just stood at the gate greeting everyone that got off the plane! It was funny.
The next week we went to Chicago for Greg and Allison's wedding, but this time we decided to leave the little Lucy bug at home with Bubbe and Papa Fred. It was our first trip away from her, and it was hard at first, but after awhile we were able to relax and enjoy the "free" time. We had a wonderful time touring Chicago (my first time there) and had a blast at the wedding!
While we were gone Lucy got another tooth... but not where we expected! Before this she had only 2 center bottom teeth, so you might expect that the next one would be a center top... but instead she got one on the top, but on the side! It's quite funny, it's like this little random snaggletooth.
Lucy just seems to be changing by leaps and bounds these days. She is so happy, she loves to smile and wave at everyone. She giggles more and more every day, and it is so contagious! She is constantly cracking us up.
Well I am going to stop blabbering now. Hope everyone is well! Please come visit us in Colorado!
